032 [video] [backdated to March 28]
[The feed begins with a view of the ocean with Olivine's port off to the side. The setting sun is reflecting off of the water; it's a nice mixture of blue, orange, and purple. A gentle breeze makes the boats in the port sway gently.
Basically, it's a beautiful evening.
The feed owner sighs in the background. It's a content sigh.]
You sure can't beat a day like this. Not a bad day for a birthday if I do say so myself.
Laaapras.
[The apparent Lapras seems to be in agreement with its owner.
Larry turns the 'Gear so he can address the network properly. He's got a hoodie on, and the hood is somehow managing to cover up his spiky hair. Somehow. He seems to be in better spirits after what happened last month.
Gourdy the Lapras also peers into the frame at times. One might notice that Larry's actually sitting on his shiny Lapras out on the ocean.]
That's two birthdays spent in Johto. I kinda laid low for the first one, but for this one, I wanna do something for it.
So! [He jabs his pointer finger toward the 'Gear's camera.] If anyone in Olivine's up for some partying, I'll be at that cool bar restaurant tonight. You don't have to know me or anything; I'll hang out with anyone!
Be there or be square.
[Wow that was an out of style saying, but Larry just rolls with it. He grins and cuts out the feed shortly after.]

It should be a yearly tradition.
Just for tonight, but sure am!
Gimme five, man.
[She holds a hand out as she squeezes onto a stool next to him.]
It SHOULD.
[High five is go!
And then Heather gets a big hug.]

Been awhile, huh?
no subject
Waaay too long. Like... Wow, I can't even remember how long it's been. I feel kinda bad.
no subject
[It was still weird to think about... and a little bittersweet. How many of Heather's friends had she gone months without in-person contact with before they disappeared? Hell, that was what had happened with Phoenix...]
[At least she was getting to see Larry before she left Olivine.]
SO! How much've I missed?
no subject
[Leave it to Larry to bring up his gym challenge status. It's his most important thing in Johto, after all. But another of his traits back home is about to surface as well...]
And uh, I'm kinda seeing someone.
no subject
I'd better start catchin' up.
[.... Wait a second.]
[That second statement is way more worthy of using the lord's name in vain than the first one was.]
[She repeats it slowly.]
... Seeing someone?
[LARRY BUTZ? SEEING SOMEONE?]
no subject
[IT'S MORE LIKELY THAN YOU THINK.
By the way, Heather has just allowed the opening of a flood gate. Said flood gate is Larry's tendency to gush about girlfriends.]
And yeah! She's amazing, Heather. She's kind and super strong, mentally and physically. Way stronger than me. She's been there for me in some real rough times too. [His eyes light up just talking about this mystery girl.] You don't know how lucky I feel.
no subject
I can take a GUESS at how you feel, anyway.
[But man, she's curious.]
Who IS it, anyway?
no subject
Her name's Ur.
no subject
... Wait, you're dating Ur?!
no subject
no subject
I didn't think y-- she was your type.
[Or that... Larry was HER type, but... WELLP.]
no subject
[Looks like Larry and Heather are hiveminds on that thought.]
Not that I'm complaining. I could never complain. She's been amazing.
no subject
I'm glad it's workin' out for you two.
I mean... hell, if you're stuck here, why NOT get a girlfriend?
no subject
Larry grins that silly grin of his.]
Thanks, Heather. And yeah, that's how I see it too. And the timing couldn't have been better either. Times have been tough!
[He's pretty sure Heather can guess what he's hinting at there. It's something they've both been dealing with lately. Loss.]
no subject
[But she grins back anyway, because hell yeah she can guess what he means.]
That they have.
Cheers to livin' in the moment, huh?
[She twists on her stool to wave to the bartender.]
HEY, can I get a-- ... round, or something over here? [SHIT SHE TOTALLY JUST REALIZED SHE'S NEVER REALLY BEEN DRINKING AT A BAR BEFORE. It's all been stupid rebel high school parties where they like had a college kid to buy shitty boxed wine for them and stuff. HOW I ORDER DRINKS.]
no subject
[Oh Heather, you're so adorable. Larry laughs, then properly orders something for them. He's starting off with daiquiris, because you can never go wrong with them.
When he's done, he turns back to Heather.]
Sorry about that. I kinda got caught up in the conversation.
no subject
[Even IN Johto, she somehow managed to never actually go to a bar. Just drank 'at home' with friends.]
[So she sits there for a moment and looks appropriately sheepish before shooting Larry a rueful grin.]
Hey, no big.
It's not like the booze is going anywhere.
no subject
Point! And we've got the whole night ahead of us.
no subject
[But yes, technically.]
I like that kinda thinkin'.
