[It's a lovely evening in Ecruteak City. Lovely enough for Larry to go up and find a nice view of the city to draw and paint. His Pokemon are out of their Pokeballs and lounging around while Larry sits in silence, scribbling away in his sketchbook. He's not really sure why inspiration struck him so hard today, but he has a feeling it's because today marks an entire year in Johto for him. Mostly, he believes he just needs to space out and draw for once. His mind has been on battling and gyms far too much, and since he finally got the Fog badge, he can relax for a bit.
He's drawn many things in the couple hours spent in that spot. He's drawn his Pokemon, his friends, and even friends that left a long time ago. So many memories, and so many to come. But his biggest piece of the evening is a pastel drawing of the city itself.
Adding the last few swatches of color to the drawing, he looks it over, then sighs. It's a happy sigh. Mission accomplished!]
Woooobbuffet!
[Wobbuffet looks equally accomplished, looking at that drawing.
Larry grins, patting his starter's head.]
Glad you like it, Wobbuffet. Here's to another year, huh?
Wobba Wobba!
[Since Larry's rather proud of his drawing of Ecruteak, he decides to turn his 'Gear on and show it off. Thus, the feed begins with a shot of the drawing. It's actually pretty good, even for Larry.]
Hey guys, whatcha think? Not too shabby, huh? [He grins,] Guess I'm not rusty at the whole art thing yet!
Oh, and uh... [He looks a little awkward, trying to think of what to say here,] Happy one year for you guys who landed in Johto a year ago today. Hard to believe we've actually stuck around this long. Not that that's a bad thing to me. Here's hopin' the crazy things'll get toned down in the year to come.
Heh, who am I kidding? It wouldn't be Johto without the crazy things!
Make it four, Edgey. [YOU KNOW WHAT HE MEANS.]

I never bought that crap anyway.
I said to someone once, that'd be like being randomly transported to Earth from an alternate dimension and believing that you'd get sent home magically by winning the Superbowl.
If it was supposed to be some kinda test or challenge being here, they wouldn't just randomly send so many people back, would they?
[... HEATHER YOU ARE TALKING TO LARRY BUTZ, DO YOU EXPECT A DEFINITIVE ANSWER ON THIS]
Maybe, I don't know. They had to have picked and chose to get us here too though, right?
S'like alien abduction or something!
I guess so.
But it feels so random...
[She's noticed that most everybody has stories to tell... but didn't everybody, really? How else could you explain the motley crew that was the otherworlders of Johto?]
[He's got a pretty damn good POINT, though... hell, even if the worlds weren't random, how likely was it that people you KNEW would be brought? That's one in several billion chances.]
Still, you do have a point. I mean, there were tons of people from my world here at one point...
[Her tone takes on a somber quality.]
... Most of 'em are gone now though, huh...
[It had never really occurred to her before, but... damn Larry must be lonely.]
[Larry's being surprisingly optimistic about this.]
Getting over the disappearances would've been pretty hard otherwise.
Yeah, good thing.
And if the ones from home ever come back...
It was...awkward. [Understatement.]
Yeah, I can... kinda imagine.
... Actually, I can imagine it really well.
[Because that's exactly what had happened to her. ... Except... she had it much better, because it was her father... and it didn't matter that he hadn't remembered his first visit to Johto. He'd known HER and that was all that Heather cared about.]
Though... for me it was better when they came back without remembering Johto.
I just wished it wouldn't have been that way in this case.
