[The feed opens up to a huge egg taking up all of the screen. Eventually it moves away and Larry's lap comes into view...and eventually Larry himself, sitting on the couch in his hotel room. He's holding what seems to be a Metal Coat in his other hand, and he's definitely showing that thing off, oh yeah he is. He looks ridiculously happy about this Metal Coat.]

Guys! Didja see the new stuff at the department store?! They have Metal Coats!

So, my question is going to be painfully obvious: who wants to help me evolve my Onix? I'm in Goldenrod of course.

[There's a pause as Larry remembers something.]

Oh yeah... I forgot to let you guys know I was back! Well uh...I am. Surprise! To my buds in Goldenrod, we should hang out sometime! I haven't seen a lot of you in...a while...

[He trails off as he realizes that oh snap his egg is glowing. He points the 'Gear camera at the glowing egg.]

Well look at that! Nice timing, egg! 'bout frickin' time too. Guess you guys get to see what's in this thing.

[The egg starts taking shape into a Pokémon...and it gets bigger. And bigger. And bigger. Eventually, it's almost as big as Larry, practically crushing him.]

W-Waaaaaaugh!

[But it doesn't stop there. Eventually it grows into a nearly seven foot tall...dinosaur. A Tropius, to be exact. The feed only shows a small bit of it however, since Larry is now sprawled under the Pokémon. His voice is muffled, but loud enough to hear.]

How does that even work?!

[Suddenly, the noise of the couch collapsing can be heard, and the feed shorts out.]

I can't keep a girlfriend is what I mean, Edgey. [sniffle]

You haven't--

[ ...at least she hasn't tried to kill you, though. ]

That's.. I'm sorry, Larry.

[Poor, poor Phoenix.

Larry attempts to recollect himself.]

'Sokay. Sorry for getting all emotional on you. You don't need to worry about this kinda stuff yet.

[ He shakes his head. ]

I'm fine.. I didn't mean to upset you, though.

It's cool, seriously.

It's weird though...I've been here for months and I haven't really looked yet. Well, aside from... [He trails off and just...goes silent.]

[ A blink. Pause. And he thinks he understands. ]

She returned home?

[He nods, sighing.]

Yeah. I would've never worked anyway. I just kept on kidding myself though.

But you cared for her... didn't you?

'course I did.

Then, if you ever meet her again, I think you should tell her.

[ Whether it's "I love you" or "goodbye," as was the case with Gregory and many people Miles met, what hurt most was not being able to say it. Even if the result is still painful. ]

[He mulls over that for a moment. He only hesitated because for once...he wasn't sure he wanted to hear a negative response. But ever since he lost that chance... Well, now he understands.]

You know...I think I will. Thanks, Edgey.

This conversation went in a really weird direction, huh?

[ He pauses before he replies, knowing that.. he doesn't mind this weird. Miles had been struggling for a little while, now, about the people from his world, a tiny nagging voice that couldn't let go of the fact that he barely knew anything about Phoenix or Larry - not as children, not as adults.

He'd realized already that Phoenix never told him much about himself. Just that they were best friends. Just talks about before DL6, and assurances that things would be fine. It had been better, but not by much, with Larry and almost everybody else. That's the way it should be - people from the past needn't know so much about the future - but Miles had been getting nervous.

This sincerity from Larry. He can't deny that it makes him happy, like he knows Larry a little better now. And he wants to hear more. ]

I guess it did, but it's fine. I don't mind.

[Just think of all the crazy stories Larry would tell if Miles asked for some.

He smiles.]

Heh, good to know. I'm actually glad you were willing to listen.

[And then he pauses, remembering what his main goal was once he got to Goldenrod. While there are others from their world in Johto, Miles is really the closest friend he has left. Yet they haven't seen each other in person in ages.]

Hey Edgey, we should hang out sometime. You're not taking off again soon, are ya?

[ He shakes his head. He doesn't have much plans, so unless his travelmate Ken says something, he probably wouldn't be moving from Goldenrod for awhile. And considering that said Ken is still asleep, Miles is definitely not moving. ]

I'll be here until further notice. I'm not going anywhere without him. [ He tilts the gear to show one sleeping Ken. ]

[Larry being out of the loop is about to strike again.]

Dude, he's asleep? Sorry to hear about that.
