[After nearly a week of nonstop riding, Larry and his team have made it partway through Route 38. It shouldn't be too long until he finds Barney. Good thing too, because they are probably in need of some serious R&R at the Ecruteak inn tonight.

He's off Steelix now and is just walking along the trail, stretching his legs a bit. Getting tired of around to see the boring sights, he decides to notify the network of his traveling progress. Unfortunately, he doesn't check the newest posts first, so he isn't quite aware of the dangerous ghost bugs flying around Johto. Leave it to Larry to be clueless.

The feed opens up, and the viewer will be seeing the exact same thing Larry is: the long, dark, stretching road of Route 38.]

Hey guys, I made it to Route 38. Man, Barney wasn't lying when he said this place was boring as heck. I can see why it'd drive him crazy! Good thing we won't be here for that long. Hey Barney, when you see this, we should be running into each other any time now. You up for chilling in Ecruteak tonight? I hear they got a nice bath thing the--

[Larry is suddenly cut off by the faint cry of a certain ghostly bug Pokémon.]

... The heck was that?

[The screen shakes and whips around to show a perfect shot of the Shedinja that had been following Larry for quite some time now.]

Whoa, this guy's new! And...creepy.

[He holds out the 'Gear to it, and receives the general information on the Pokémon, including the warning about the hole in its back.]

Pfft, is this thing serious? I love crazy ghost stories like this!

[The screen whips around yet again to show Larry's silly grin. He looks...cocky. What a surprise.]

Betcha I can look at that thing's back and nothing'll happen. Larry ain't afraid of a creepy ghost bug!

[... Yep, Larry would be dumb enough. The screen turns around for one last time as he circles the now completely still Shedinja. He's making this way too easy for the soul thief. The feed goes silent as Larry gazes into the gaping hole in the Pokémon's back, expecting nothing to happen and to say, "Hah! Toldja!" to his audience. Several moment pass and not a peep comes from the once confident Larry. Then suddenly, the screen wobbles, and the view crashes to the ground along with its owner.

And it'll just keep on recording the empty trail ahead. After all, Larry can't exactly turn it off now that he's equally as hollow as the Pokémon who really did take his soul.]

[[OOC: Larry's Pokemon are in their balls so they haven't realized something's up quite yet. Responses will come from Barney when he finds Larry's body.]]

A bath would actually be awesome right about now.

[Considering he's been walking for several days now. With the flatland. And the birds. And the whole weirdness of everything. Needless to say, any further things he had to say are instantly forgotten when he sees the screen fall to the ground.

Now, Barney is not someone who usually panics, unless something happens to his friends. So he is running as fast as he can, which is actually pretty fast, towards where Larry is, skidding to a halt in front of him.]

Larry? Larry? C'mon bro, what happened?

[Larry's sprawled out in the road, practically lifeless. Looking into that Shedinja's back definitely did something to him, because now he's unconscious.

Sorry Barney, he won't be responding for a little while.]

C'mon man, this is not cool.

[Because shaking him back and forth is going to work.]

[Larry just slumps limply as he's shaken. Yep, probably gonna need to use some more force, Barney.]

Damn it, Larry! This is not cool.

[And he's picked up a few of Larry's pokeballs because he NOT carrying Larry back to Ecruteak. Of course, none of them are the Steelix so there's a bunch of pokemon around as Barney opens every single pokeball.]

[And those Pokemon are going to react poorly to seeing their trainer unconscious and not knowing how it happened. Needless to say they'll be giving Barney suspicious looks. Yet, they know that Barney couldn't have done it. They know Barney is a person on Larry's side, since the Larry talks about him a lot. Positively of course.

So they look upon him again, this time for instructions. This is their trainer in trouble, after all.]

[This can only end well]

Uh, right, well. We need to get Larry somewhere safe, and I don't want to go back to that farm 'cause of some stuff.

[Did he hit on a farmgirl? Yeah, he hit on a farmgirl.]

So, can you help me do that?

[The Pokémon give each other a quick glance, then a nod.

Steelix lowers herself so the others can help drag Larry's body onto her back.]

[Barney will help with that to.]

Okay, someone's gonna have to make sure he doesn't fall off or anything.

[As the Pokémon climb up with their trainer (save for the ones who can't), Difblim lies on top of Larry and uses her arms to clutch onto Steelix to hold him in place. Better for a practically weightless Pokemon like Drifblim to do it.

They make sure to leave a place for Barney to sit too.]

At least he isn't alone. ] That Pokémon he was talking about.. that's a Shedninja. People've been having their "souls" stolen by them all over Johto..

[ He nods. ] Of course, Larry would be the one to purposely look into one.

I don't think he knew what would happen. I mean, these things just showed up.

...He knew, he just thought it was a crazy ghost story despite being in this for the good part of one year.

Hey, some of those things about pokemon are pretty unbelievable.

[Yes, he is defending Larry's idiocy.]

The Pokédex most certainly isn't always right... but he should have been more cautious.

He's always been like this, too, ever since we were kids. If there was a "beware of dog" sign he'd say the dog can't scare him and nearly get bitten.

Yeah, the Shedinga things got him.

Man, those things are really wreaking havoc... Is he gonna be okay?
