008 [video]

[The feed starts up to the view of the festival in Violet City going on in full swing. Tons of people line up along the rows of stands, and trainers are having battles off to the side. Eventually the screen is covered by a big blue blob shouting, "Wobba! Waaaaaaaahbbuffet!"

Seconds later, the owner of the PokéGear finally turns the screen toward himself. Why, it's Larry! And he's got a stupid grin on his face, with a little bit of ketchup on his cheek. He's been trying to enjoy the festival as much as possible, but it's obvious that something's still eating at him. Yes, not even Larry is free from the travel party drama going on right now. It was bad enough with Phoenix disappearing with Dahlia on the loose, but now the one girl that he still had some feelings for had showed up as well, and she came from before she met him. Not that it could ever work out, since he knows...

Well, it's complicated.]

Hahah, cut it out, Wobbuffet! Here, you can have the rest of my hot dog. I know you just can't resist its deliciousness.

[Larry's voice is a little hard to hear from the hustle and bustle of the festival right next to him, but at least you can make out what he's saying.]

Hey guys! Havin' fun at the the festival? It's been awesome so far! They have the best food ever here! Man, I'm totally regretting not setting up some kind of booth. I coulda done portraits for everyone. And let me tell you, there are some smokin' hot ladies here that I'd love to draw.

Anyone wanna hang out later? Festivals are way better when you're with friends! Just drop a line if you're up for some fun, Larry Butz style.

Yo. Want to chill at the café? I bet the girls have got some special festival outfits!

[Text to Phoenix]
[A lot has been going through his mind over the past few days. Most of the group has been acting weird ever since Dahlia showed up, but he's been particularly worried about his best friend. He has a feeling that Phoenix wants to do this on his own since he still hasn't heard anything from him, but there's no harm in a little pep talk. Edgeworth (well, the older Edgeworth) always said he was good at motivating people...]

Hey Nick, wherever you are. Haven't heard from you in a few days, so I thought I'd check up on you. I'm not gonna pry on what's going on, but I just wanna let you know that we're all rooting for you to make it through this. And if you want to know anything, well...

Let's hang out when you make it back, okay?

I've messaged my partner a few times, but I've never met him. I don't know how I can beat up Sonic, though... he's one of my childhood heroes.

[...And then then Scott also turns around.]
Well, I guess this is our meeting! What should we do?

Dude, I know. I'm partnered up with...some kid named America. Poor kid. I mean, who names their kids after countries?

[Larry pauses thoughtfully.]

There's always so much to do at festivals, I never know what to do first.

Jack seems like a cool guy... but yeah! That's totally weird. I've met another kid called Canada -- that's so freaky!

Well... we could go to the games, to get some extra cash! And maybe some quest items, too! TMs, even!

Whoa, seriously? I wonder if they know each other...

Sounds good to me! I've always wondered where all the TMs were. People don't just give 'em out to you in Johto.

Maybe their parents were friends, and decided to name their kids all freaky.

Not even when you beat a Gym Leader?! That's unfair! [Scott's started to get walking again.]

Talk about weird parents then!

[Following,] I'm not sure about Gym Leaders. I haven't beaten one yet. I'm planning on facing Falkner soon though!

I'm gonna face Falkner when my Pokemon are around level 40. I might go and beat that second Gym Leader first, though. I've heard they use Bug-types, and Knuckles roasts Bug-Types easily.

You know, that's the one crazy thing about Johto. I don't remember the first Gym Leader having ridiculously high-leveled Pokémon. Talk about a challenge!

...I still think he's cheating. How about the normal trainers, from this world!? How are they meant to become the very best!?

Beats me! But it sure takes a heck of a lot more time to even challenge the gym leaders here. Or even to get to Violet.

Maybe it's always been this way! We've just been gods, over the world! And our will weakened the bosses!

... I am okay with this theory!

If only we were playing this, then we could have become gods again!
