005 [video/action for Violet City peeps]

[After checking in with Nick, who was finally getting some sleep, a well-rested and rejuvenated Larry (along with his Pokémon) is exiting the Violet Pokémon Center, stretching in every way possible. When was the last time he slept for like three days straight?

Thinking of something, he whips out his PokéGear.]

Hey! Who wants to have a battle? Can't let myself get rusty at this if I wanna beat that Falkner guy!

[Larry, it's only been three days. But hey, at least he'll get to know some more people?]

For people in Violet City, anyway. And don't worry, this isn't on a first come, first serve basis. Larry's got plenty of time to battle with all you guys. Just don't cry when you get whomped.

Oh, no fair! I'm too far away for that!

I suppose I could entertain that offer. I don't believe I've had a battle with anyone yet.

I don't think I've even seen you battling in action, either. This'll be really cool!

[He takes a look at his three Pokémon, who are now standing in a line, ready for action.]

Okay, Poliwag, you're up first!

[The small Pokémon hops out of line and in front of his trainer, practically shaking with excitement for his first real battle.]

You got it.

Might be a while, though. I don't even know what everyone else's plans are!

This will be my first battle against another trainer, yes.

...hm. A water-type, presumably. [He threw out a Pokeball, releasing a bouncing Jumpluff.]

Tsumujikaze, Bullet Seed.

[The hopping plant took a breath and fired a volley of seeds at Larry's Poliwag.]

Right, it's been a lot of stuff ever since you first got in, huh? How's everyone doing?

[That was the sucky thing about going first, your opponent might be able to make a type advantage. But that's not going to stop Larry and Poliwag!]

Quick, Poliwag! Get out of the way!

[Poliwag obeys and dodges the majority of the seeds, but isn't quick enough to avoid the final ones. He cries in pain before jumping back toward his trainer.]

Ack! Poliwag, you okay?

[He gives his trainer a determined look, which definitely reassures Larry.]

Great! The opponent might have the advantage, but that doesn't mean we can't fight back. Hit 'im with Hypnosis!

[The spiral pattern on Poliwag's belly begins to spin, aimed directly at the Jumpluff.]

Yeah. It's been crazy over here!

Well Nick's still sicker than a dog, but he's finally sleeping, so that's good. I just think everyone's still recovering from last weekend.

Well, I'm ready whenever you are. I'll be waitin' in front of the PokéCenter.

I shall be heading there now, then.

[And off he goes. Within 5 minutes, he arrives, wearing his courteous smile on his face.]

[A few minutes later Kisame walks up, grinning. Even without the sharky bits, he's probably pretty intimidating.]

A battle, eh? Sounds like fun. I could use a little more training, and so can my squad.

Tell me about it. My group's still shaky, too, not to mention I still can't find Konata...

I can battle with you, Mr. Larry!

I'd be glad to battle you!!

... If I was closer!

You wanna battle, huh?

If you're willing to be the one crying, then I'll be glad to take you on!

Hopefully nothing happened to her.

[Shelly is greeted with an enthusiastic wave.]

That was fast.

[Intimidating indeed! Larry's amazement shows on his face.]

Yeah! Are you gonna take on Falkner too?

That'd be awesome!

... [Jokingly,] But don't think I'll go easy on you just 'cause you're younger.

How 'bout we put a rain check on it then?

I sure do!

[He laughs at that.] We'll see who's crying at the end of the battle!

Not yet; we have more training to do first.

How close would you say you are to being ready to challenge him?

[Kisame is being pleasant and obviously curious for the moment.]

Sounds good to me.

You seem pretty confident! I hope you can back that up...!

She's too cool for that!

And don't think I'll go easy on you because of your chin hair thing! [She's new to trash talk. Pardon her.]

I was close by. [He gets a Pokéball from his pocket.] Well, then, shall we?

[Larry nods, grinning.]

Yeah! You wanna choose first?

Close, I guess. I don't even know how strong his Pokemon are.

[...Okay he has to laugh at that.]

Fair enough! You ready to do this?

You bet I can.

Shouldn't you figure that out? Not knowing your opponent's strength is a good way to get beaten.

[Kisame laughs] But we'll see which one of is closer, won't we?

I suppose I can. [He throws the Pokéball - with CLASS, man - and out comes his Sneasel, claws ready to kick ass.]

Yes!

That guy, huh? In that case...

Drifloon, go!

[With that, his Drifloon floats from the line that his Pokémon had formed to the ~battlefield~.

Little does Larry know that the majority of his team is susceptible to Dark.]

Oh yeah, you've got a point there. Only way to find out would be to battle him, huhn?

Y-Yeah!! [Totally not intimidated already. Totally not.]

Awright! I'll go first.

[He looks at his Pokémon, then nods when he figures who to send out first.]

Wobbuffet, you're up first!

[On the other hand, Shelly's Pokémon have lower levels. However, on the... third hand, he may be a better strategist than Larry. ONE WILL HAVE TO SEE.]

Weasley, begin with a Faint Attack. [And so he does! The Sneasel runs towards Drifloon, ready to strike with his left paw... and strikes with the claws of his RIGHT paw. How sneaky.]

[Be glad he doesn't have his huge-ass sword, Larry.]

Are you ready or do you need a minute to collect yourself?

That's a water type...

Go, Pink Mr. Edgeworth! [The Hoppip looks at her like 'what.' and pretty much linefaces hsi way out to the frontlines.]
