Yeah, the difficulty really ramps up as you go. Type advantages are still nice, but the leaders usually have moves to counter them anyway. Like for example, I'm pretty sure Clair's Gyarados knows Earthquake.

It's really tough to predict their moves so using Wobbuffet was a little trickier.
